Why it exists

E-bike & E-scooter chargers are heavy, single-purpose bricks. You already carry a USB-C charger for your laptop, your phone, everything. Now it charges your bike too.

How it works

USB-C power in. E-bike charge out.

The TypeCharge negotiates power from any USB-C PD source and boosts it to the voltage your battery needs. No proprietary brick in the chain.

Features

Not just small. Smart.

Most chargers give you a light that turns green. The TypeCharge gives you control over the charge and a live window into it.

Fully programmable

Set exactly how your pack charges, all on a crisp on-board OLED, refreshing at a beautiful 60fps, because why not.

  • + Cap the maximum charge to protect long-term battery health
  • + Limit charge power for wider USB-C source compatibility
  • + Reduce maximum output current to extend battery lifespan

Realtime data

Nothing hidden behind a blinking LED. Every parameter that matters, live on-screen as it charges.

Safety & certification

Certified before it ships.

The TypeCharge is going through full safety certification right now. Nothing ships until it passes

IEC 62368-1 + EMC, in parallel
Built-in hardware protection
Over Voltage Protection
Stops the output ever climbing past a safe voltage for your pack.
Over Current Protection
Limits current draw to keep the charge within safe bounds.
Over Temperature Protection
Backs off if the charger runs hot.
Reverse Polarity Protection
Protects against a battery connected the wrong way round.

Here's the honest part: certification is why this takes months, not weeks. The unbranded chargers you'll find for super cheap online skip all of it: no certification, no EMC, etc. The wait is the safety.

TypeCharge will be shipped as soon as it passes safety certification. Reservations are fully refundable.

The person behind it

Hi, I'm Chris Doel.

I'm the engineer who designed the TypeCharge, and DYZA is my company. Most people know me as an Engineering Youtuber, or more commonly "The Vape Guy" after my vape battery upcycling projects.

I built this after getting sick of lugging around a huge brick e-bike charger everywhere, when I almost always had USB C chargers around me.

The TypeCharge will directly support my Youtube channel and hopefully allow me to do some even crazier projects!

If you've seen my most recent video, then you'll know that I've been using the TypeCharge to charge my car!

Not in Europe? Get in line.

The TypeCharge launches in Europe first. North American safety certification is a separate, costly process we'll take on once demand proves it out. Register and you'll be first to know when a US & Canada launch is on. No payment, no commitment.

FAQ

Before you ask.

Heres some frequency asked questions. Still stuck? Reach us at support@dyza.co.uk.

Which batteries and voltages does it support? +
The TypeCharge charges 10S to 14S lithium-ion packs That's a full output range of 30V–58.8V, covering 36V (10S), 44V (12S), 48V (13S) and 52V (14S) e-bikes and scooters.

To find your pack's series count, check the battery label: it's often printed as an "S" number, or you can work it from the nominal voltage: 36V ≈ 10S, 48V ≈ 13S, 52V ≈ 14S. Not sure? Email us your battery details and we'll confirm before you reserve. We can also support LiFePO4 on request as long as it is within the range of 30V - 58.8V.

Running a 72V pack? A higher-voltage version is in the pipeline and already in testing, but safety certification is significantly harder at 72V, so it'll follow as a later release rather than in Batch 1. Keen on 72V? Drop us an email and we'll keep you posted.
Will it work with my e-bike's connector? +
The TypeCharge outputs through a standard DC 5.5 × 2.1mm barrel jack, and ships with a 1m male-to-male cable. If your battery uses a different connector, we offer adapters for the most common port types:
  • XT60 Male
  • XT60 Female
  • XLR 3-pin
  • RCA
  • GX12 3-pin
  • GX16 3-pin
  • DC 5.5 × 2.5mm barrel jack
Which USB-C chargers will power it? +
Any USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger will work. The more power it delivers, the faster you charge, up to the TypeCharge's 180W ceiling. A weaker charger still works; it just charges more slowly.

One important gotcha: on multi-port chargers, the big wattage on the box is usually the total shared across all ports. What matters is the power of a single USB-C port. Check that figure in the charger's spec, not the headline number. A 100W single-port GaN charger will outperform a "160W" charger that splits across three ports.
How do refunds work? +
Your deposit is fully refundable, any time, no questions asked right up until you redeem your place and complete your final order. If certification isn't achieved, or we can't deliver, every deposit is refunded automatically. A reservation is not a completed purchase; you only pay the balance when you choose to, once the product is certified and ready.
When will it ship, and what could delay it? +
Estimated shipping is Q4 2026, following successful safety certification. We deliberately don't promise a hard date, because the honest answer is that certification timelines aren't fully in our hands.

The main thing that could move the date is the certification and EMC testing process. If testing surfaces something that needs a design revision, we fix it properly rather than rush. Reservation holders get every update by email as it happens, and your deposit stays refundable throughout.
Do you ship to my country? +
Batch 1 is a Europe-only launch (UK and EU). A US and Canada launch depends on separate (and expensive) North American safety certification, which we'll take on once demand proves it out.

In the US or Canada? Join the waitlist and you'll be first to know when it's happening, no payment, no commitment.
Is the price final? What about shipping? +
The launch price is €119, excluding shipping, and your €10 deposit comes off that; so a balance of €109 plus shipping at the final step. Founder pricing is locked for Batch 1 reservation holders before it rises for later batches.

Shipping is calculated at the final payment step, once certification completes and we've confirmed carrier rates for your country. We'd rather quote you a real number then than guess one now.
What's the warranty? +
The TypeCharge comes with a 6 Month warranty covering manufacturing defects, alongside your statutory consumer rights under UK and EU law. Full warranty terms will be provided with your order.
